EID MUBARAK FROM NZMEBC
May this Eid be special for members, followers, friends and family. Wishing you happiness, prosperity and opportunities for connection.
COMMERCIAL PANEL SEMINARS
The Covid-19 lockdown generated some new thinking at NZMEBC about how we could continue to service our members in an environment where Zoom became the dominant method of inter-personal communication.
During April, NZMEBC hosted a very successful Zoom seminar with seven Ambassadors and Trade Commissioners from throughout the Middle East region.
The success of this online event has resulted in a plan to host several short online panel discussions in the next few months, including an overview of the ME economic climate, supply chain and logistics issues, opportunities in the tech and construction sectors and an update on the Food and Beverage sector.
Details of the online panel discussions will be communicated to all members.
If you wish to register interest please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
SUPPORT FOR BUSINESS FROM ABU DHABI GOVERNMENT
The Government of Abu Dhabi has developed a package of measures to assist businesses in their city who are adversely affected by Covid19.
Any businesses operating in this area may be interested in these business support packages. The details of this assistance are available here.
ECONOMIC ANALYSES BY MFAT
In March, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade produced an economic report on the opportunities available to New Zealand exporters resulting from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy.
Over $750m of New Zealand exports went to Saudi Arabia in 2019, and the Riyadh MFAT post has reported a 70% increase in new deals last year. To read the full report and see what opportunities may be available for your business, click the link here.
Just last week MFAT produced a further report outlining the impact of Covid19 on the wider Gulf region.
This provides very interesting intelligence on the current Covid19 situation and addresses the one year delay which has been annunced for Dubai2020, which now commences in October 2021.
You can access this very interesting report here.
