Opportunities for NZ companies at Dubai 2020

New Zealand at Expo 2020 has just announced that it is seeking service providers to support a world-class pavilion and visitor experience to showcase the best of New Zealand at the Dubai 2020 Expo.

The services required for the New Zealand pavilion have been split into three categories: pavilion operations, hospitality and design store.  Individual organisations and consortia may submit proposals to deliver one, two or all three of the categories and will be evaluated on the delivery of a premium quality and seamless pavilion experience.

New Zealand’s theme for Expo 2020 is Care for People and Place.

“At Expo 2020, we want to give our pavilion visitors a top-quality and authentic New Zealand experience” says Clayton Kimpton, New Zealand’s Commissioner-General to Expo 2020.

“The restaurant and hospitality offering should feature the very best of New Zealand food and beverage and we’re looking for a design store that conveys a contemporary and innovative New Zealand, a country that is good for the world.”

A Request for Proposal has been released on the New Zealand Government Electronic Tender Services platform GETS and the Expo 2020 Procurement Portal.

180 nations will participate in Expo 2020, which lasts for six-months from October 2020 to April 2021.  25 million visitors are expected to attend, with 70% traveling from outside the UAE.  The United Arab Emirates is New Zealand’s 10th largest trading partner.
